Capturing 365Capturing 365 is a series that began on January 1, 2010. I decided that I wanted to improve my photographic technique as well as document a year in my life. Each photo represents a memory, a fragment of the world that caught my eye, or a pure record of my day. This project has allowed me to see the extraordinary in the seemingly ordinary.

Photo Challenge 2012After a period away from my camera, I decided I needed a structured project to get back to shooting more frequently. I adapted this project from daily assignments to weekly assignments, to provide more time for planning, shooting, and editing.

"Photograph"For my final project in my digital arts class, we were asked to visually interpret a poem using Photoshop and Illustrator. I decided to utilize my favorite poem; "Photograph" by Andrea Gibson. I took a series of pictures to emphasize this narrative of love and loss. I then digital manipulated these images and made them look like Polaroid photographs with the text of the poem underneath. Here are some of the original photos that appeared in the project.

SilhouettesI love capturing shadows, but after seeing a performance of the modern dance company, Pilobolus; I was inspired to go further. The following images are for my final Photography I project. I used both a film and digital camera. This technique was revisited in the Eleanor Rigby series.
